Meet and Code 2017

During the EU Meet and Code 2017 event, Astronomy and Space Science Club (a NGO organization) from Oradea City, Romania, organized two educational activities: 'Astronaut for a day' and 'Mars Exploration Rover'.
Location: The Children's Educational Center in Oradea, Romania
Time: October 18-th and 21-st, 2017.

'During one of the 30 coding events in Romania, some participants even explored Mars! Organizers of the Mars Exploration Rover event from the Astronomy and Space Science Club in Oradea, showed children the images transmitted by satellites and later moved on to the presentation of a LEGO Mindstorms robot kit. It was an introduction of an exciting task: to design, construct and program their own rovers and explore Mars. The participants built 3D models of the Lego Space Challenge EV3 and learned how to code NXT 2.00 rover for specific tasks. The results were really impressive!'

The outer space, or just space, is the expanse that exists beyond the Earth and between celestial bodies.

The space is not completely empty. It is a hard vacuum containing a low density of particles predominantly a plasma of hydrogen, magnetic fields, neutrinos, dust and cosmic rays

Inflight call with an astronaut

West University of Timisoara, Romania
January 24, 2017

On 24 January 2017, teachers from Romania, Ireland and Portugal were connected by video connection with ESA astronaut, Thomas Pesquet, who were on ISS.

After a national competition, Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) and European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) selected 5 Romanian teachers to ask Thomas questions about how space is used in everyday life and how the many applications from space research have changed the way we live.

My question was 'What kind of research are you conducting during the Proxima mission that could contribute to new technologies to be used in our daily life?' (from 3:23 minute to 4:40 minute in this video).
