Autumn in Oradea

Fortress of Oradea October 2, 2015
Our city celebrates autumn each year, with a festival that lasts two weeks. The Fortress of Oradea is the proper place for exhibitions, 3D projections. The Astronomy and Space Science Club of Oradea offers Oradea's people the possibility to watch and know the constellations, different types of stars, double stars ... Unfortunately, light pollution is big in downtown, but we saw the Big Dipper, a part of Little Dipper, Cassiopeia, Polaris, Arcturus, Vega, Altair , Alcor and Mizar and even beautiful Albireo.

Partial Solar Eclipse

Location:Dacia School in Oradea, Romania
Time: March 20, 2015
Partial solar eclipses happen when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, but they don't align in a perfectly straight line. Because of this, the Moon only partially covers the Sun's disc.
In Oradea, Eclipse started at 10:44, with a maximum at 11:53 (local time). The end of eclipse was at 13:03. About 1000 students of Dacia School looked through telescope a part of solar disc covered by Moon.
